Every resin order comes with Resin Care Instructions in the form of a card or packaging. Listed here are the same things we include with our instructions that could be useful in prolonging the quality of your pieces.
1. Store in a cool, dry place.
Extreme heat may cause resin pieces to melt or emit foul odors. Our resin pieces can withstand warm temperatures like a hot coffee cup, but please do not use them on pots that came from the oven/stove. Resin is NOT microwave or dishwasher-safe.
2. Clean gently.
Do not scrub with abrasive sponges as resin can easily be scratched. Hand wash with mild dishwashing or hand soap and dry gently with non-abrasive cloths.
3. Avoid direct sunlight/smoke.
Over time, long exposures to sunlight (or exposure to smoke) may cause discoloration or yellowing. The resin we use has UV stabilizers that prolong color changes, but it is a natural occurrence that all resins will experience. This is especially true for pieces that have transparent or non-colored designs. We do not recommend leaving pieces directly under the sun, but in a room near some sunlight is perfectly okay!
4. Avoid harsh chemicals.
Oils, harsh chemicals, or rubbing alcohol may cause the resin to “blur” or change color. Clean thoroughly with mild soap and water if contact occurs.
